Bea’s Diary #21

Since being in Nigeria I’ve never had to do anything for myself. My cousins are the ones that do everything for me. Since we don’t have a washing machine here my clothes are washed for me, food is cooked for me. We have a driver who drives us anywhere and everywhere.

When I ask for something to be done someone usually does it for me. What I noticed is that two of my cousins wake up at 5am to clean the inside and the outside of my house; they then boil water for us to have a shower then cook for us.

They will then go and feed the chickens and look after my mums house. At home I just cook for myself but here they cook for everyone and nobody wastes food here. Everything is made fresh so there’s no leftovers from yesterday. It’s amazing.
